Humane Society Support Project
The local Humane Society was overrun with animals following Katrina. They are still shorthanded for the work that needs to be done on a daily basis to take care of all the animals. Our volunteers have been helping out by walking, washing and feeding the dogs and cats left without owners. Sadly many of these animals were given up because their owners couldn’t take them along to shelters or other temporary housing.
